Suivant le parcours d'une conversation avec le paysage, HÉLIPORT signe l'arrivée de nouvelles peintures par l'artiste Sarah Rooney. Se penchant sur la lenteur du processus créateur et l'ouverture à la réflexion qui en résulte, Rooney approche le paysage comme le lieu de rendez-vous d'un « alphabet d'empreintes. » D'autres tableaux – tel un cheval en transit et un hélicoptère en vol – se font contrepoints de ces paysages colorés par leur simple expression linéaire. Nouant traces de déplacement et de mobilité par ses lignes et ses couleurs, l'artiste nous ouvre un monde où le vocabulaire pictural oscille entre subtilité méticuleuse et gestes musicaux exaltés.

HÉLIPORT marks the arrival of new paintings by Sarah Rooney circling around a conversation with landscape. Interested in the slowness of the studio process, which opens up a space of reflection, she approaches landscape as a meeting place of an 'alphabet of marks'. Like silent markers of time, minimal spatial-line-paintings, including a horse in transit and a helicopter in flight, act as counterpoints to color-filled landscapes. Weaving together traces of displacement and mobility through line and color, the paintings unravel a world of painterly vocabulary from subtle meticulousness to the vibrancy of musical gesture.
